It borders the Atlantic Ocean in the east, the Pacific Ocean in the west, Alaska in the northwest, the United States in the south and the Arctic Ocean in the north. Most of the climate is sub-cold zone coniferous forest climate and humid continental climate, and the northern polar region is polar long cold climate. The national landform is high in the west and low in the east, with rich mineral resources, and the reserves of metal and nonmetal minerals are among the highest in the world. The total area is 9980000 square kilometers, of which the coastline is about 240000 kilometers long, and the whole country is divided into 10 provinces and 3 regions. Canada was originally inhabited by Indians and Inuit. It became a French colony in the early 17th century and was ceded to Britain. On July 1, 1867, Britain merged Canada, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia into a federation, becoming the earliest dominion in Britain. Since then, other provinces have joined the Federation. In 1926, Britain recognized Canada's "equal status" and Canada gained diplomatic independence. In 1931, it became a member of the Commonwealth, and its parliament gained equal legislative power with the British parliament, but it still had no right to amend the constitution. In 1982, the Queen of England signed the Canadian Constitution Act, and the Canadian Parliament gained full power to constitute and amend the Constitution. [1]
